Networking Products
Network switch is an equipment which can offer more ports to connect to more computers. In order to process large amount of data, the master control chip will consume more power. To help heat dissipation, fan and heat sink are widely used.
Customer requirements
At the ambient temperature of 50℃, the customer required to lower the cost under the same premise of the same thermal performance(at the temperature of 50℃, the temperature of chip should not be higher than 80℃). We built the model below based on the 3D image provided by the customer.

Parameter Setting
The parameters are provided by the customer.

Thermal Solution

Result
Conclusion: At the ambient temperature of 50℃, both heat sinks have the same thermal performance.

This simulation is for reference only, please take data of actual measurement as standard.
Result
Conclusion: From the cloud image of temperature distribution of PCB board, temperature reached 75.6℃ (original solution) and 75.9℃ (Asink's solution) respectively. Both can meet the cutomer's demand. However, Asink's heat sink reduces 6mm in height and thickness for 20%, which shows that Asink's solution can lower the cost but still meet the customer's need.
