Zhangye is like a Gobi water town covered with wind and sand, gentle and delicate but rough and cold; The Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, an oasis of Buddhist culture in the vast desert, have attracted countless craftsmen and masters. Every painting and statue has its own story; The majestic Jiayuguan pass rises to the city tower. With the wind and sand flying, the magnificent and dangerous feeling of "the world's majestic pass" and "the key to the border" will emerge spontaneously 】

#1 【Xining】

Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province,is known as the summer capital of China. When we first arrived in Xining, the altitude has risen to 2000 meters. For us living in the sea level of southern China, the moment we walk out of the plane door is like walking into a room with air conditioning on, surrounded by Gullied Loess mountains and a deep blue sky overhead.

The first stop of the journey is to visit Dongguan mosque in Xining, which is a mosque visited by local Muslims.

When you enter the temple, you will findthat the architectural styles inside and outside the temple are quite different, including Islamic style, Republic of China style and ancient Chinese architectural style. It is known that the temple has been damaged many times in history and has been built continuously. The existing buildings were rebuilt in 1913, rebuilt and expanded in 1946, and rebuilt in 1979. Therefore, the architecture has the characteristics of both Chinese classical architecture and Islamic culture.

Leaving the temple, we took the motor car to Zhangye.

The railway crossed the Qilian Mountains,and the altitude rose to 3000 meters at one time. In the hinterland of the mountains along the railway, there are different worlds: endless grasslands extend to the mountains in the distance, the rivers winding between the grassland mountains, yak goats grazing leisurely.

#2【Zhangye】

Zhangye, a prefecture level city in Gansu Province, has been an important business town and throat of the Silk Road since ancient times.

It is named after Zhangye with the meaning of "Zhangguo banye, connecting the western regions". Zhangye is known as "Jiangnan on the Great Wall" and "jinzhangye". It has both the natural beauty of "half city reed" and the historical style of "half city tower shadow".

The second stop of the journey is Danxia scenic spot in Zhangye.

Zhangye Danxia landform group, commonly known as "Zhangye Danxia", is composed of "colorful Danxia" and "Binggou Danxia".

If expressed in words, only two words, shock. Its majestic momentum, spectacular scene, peculiar shape, gorgeous color, and the uncanny workmanship of nature are amazing. In the area of more than 10 square kilometers, red, yellow, orange, green, white, gray, gray black, gray white and other bright colors can be seen everywhere, making countless gullies and hills gorgeous.

#3【Jiayuguan】

The third stop of the journey came to Jiayuguan.

Jiayuguan, known as "the most magnificent pass in the world", is located in the middle of the narrowest Valley 5km west of Jiayuguan City. The city walls on both sides of the pass cross the desert Gobi, connecting the great wall of Heishan in the north and the first pier in the world in the south. It is the most Western pass of the great wall of Ming Dynasty. Historically, it was called the throat of Hexi river. Because of the dangerous terrain and magnificent buildings, it is called the key to the border. Jiayuguan is the transportation fortress of the ancient "Silk Road" and one of the three wonders of the great wall of China (Shanhaiguan in the East, zhenbeitai in the middle and Jiayuguan in the West).

#4【Dunhuang】

From Jiayuguan, through the vast Gobi, we came to the fourth stop of the road, and the west, Dunhuang. In this vast sand sea, there are the most peculiar natural landscape and the most splendid cultural world.

The first to go is Mingsha mountain and crescent spring.

The fifth stop of the trip is the core of the trip, and it is a visit to Mogao Grottoes.

Mogao Grottoes, commonly known as Qianfo cave, are located in Dunhuang, the west end of Hexicorridor. It was built in Fujian period of Xuanzhao emperor of Qin Dynasty before, and thenit was built in the northern, Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties, ten countries, Xixia and Yuan Dynasties. It hasformed a huge scale, including 735 caves, 45000 square meters of murals and 2415 clay colored plastic sculptures. It is the largest and most abundant Buddhist art place in the world. The discovery of the Sutra cave in Mogao Grottoes in the early 20thcentury made this cultural spectacle buried by history and yellow sand be seen again. Unfortunately, mural sculpture has been destroyed by years and yellow sand, and the documents of the Sutra cave have been stolen countless.

#5【Xining】

Take the motor car, and go back along theway to come, from the long yellow sand Gobi to the green and vitality plain grassland.

On the last day of the trip, the seventhstop of the journey, we first came to Qinghai Lake.

Qinghai Lake is known as the "WestSea" in ancient times andalso called "Xianhai". It is the largest inlandlake and the largest salt water lake in China. The lake has anelevation of 3196 meters, a coastline of 360 km, an area of 4583 square kilometers, and the water is cold and salty. There are Haixin mountains in the lake,surrounded by mountains: Datong mountain in the north, Sun Moon Mountain in the East, south Qinghai mountain in the South and rubber mountain in the West. The average temperature in summer is only 15 ℃, which is a natural summer resort.

Along the way, whether it's the Dongguan mosque in Xining or the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, from Islamto Buddhism, or even the Christian Church in Xining. All kinds of religious cultures along the Hexi Corridor are mutually inclusive and prosperous.

Finally, the eighth stop on the road isto visit Ta'er temple.

Ta'er temple, also known as Ta'er temple, is a Tibetan Buddhisttemple. It is located in Huangzhong District of Xining city. It was foundedin 1379, the 12th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty. It got its name from the Dayan Pagoda built in dajinwa temple in memory of zongkaba, the founder of the Yellow Sect.In Tibetan, it is called "gunbenxian Balin", which means "Maitreya Templewith 100000 lion roaring Buddha statues".

#6【Return journey】
The five-day journey has been over. Xining and Hexi corridor have rich historical connotation and numerous cultural landscapes. This time, it can only be a quick glance.
