IATF16949 is a subordinate organization of the International Organization for Standardization ——Automotive Action Group, based on the standards (ISO9001) required by all enterprises, agencies, groups and other organizations and quality management systems in the world, combined with the characteristics of auto industry spare parts, and A specification issued (in addition to ISO9001, there are many special requirements and five reference book requirements); at present, the standard has become a passport to enter the automotive industry.

In October 2016, the IATF released IATF16949:2016, which surpassed and replaced the ISO/TS16949 standard, and clarified the quality management system requirements of various organizations in the automotive industry. The new standard refers to the latest ISO quality management system standard ISO9001:2005 and is consistent with it. IATF16949:2016 will fully comply with the structure and requirements of the ISO9001:2015 standard.
